Honor of Kings, the hit mobile MOBA from Tencent, is set to head onto the world stage with perhaps its most high-profile appearance yet. From August 1st to 4th, the game will be represented on stage at the Esports World Cup in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
The Honor of Kings Invitational Midseason tournament will take place in a single round-robin format with teams split into two groups. From the initial stages, through to the quarterfinals and semifinals, the final teams to participate in the closing of the tournament will be selected.
The Midseason Invitational will feature some of the top teams from the world of mobile esports, all competing for the chance to receive a share of the $3 million prize pool on offer. To celebrate the event, Honor of Kings will also release an exclusive skin for their hero Allain, Heavenblade.
The world is watching
Honor of Kings is not the only major mobile esports title appearing at the Esports World Cup. This past weekend, PUBG Mobile wrapped up their own invitational tournament that ran throughout the week.
The Esports World Cup grew out of the Gamers8 tournament that previously took place in Saudi Arabia, and is another move by the country to foster an attractive location for competitive gamers of all calibres.
