It’s almost time for another major update for HoYoverse’s free-to-play gacha turn-based RPG Honkai: Star Rail, and this means a new event warp (the game’s name for gacha banners)  and a new character to whale for, Huohuo.

She’s a five-star, wind-based character following the path of Abundance, which means she may be a good choice if you’re in need of a new healer.

She will appear in the event warp “Bloom in Gloom” when version 1.5 “The Crepuscule Zone” releases on November 15. She’s the only new character included in the gacha, accompanied by Arlan, Dan Heng, and Serval.

Later in the update cycle, another event war will introduce the five-star Physical/Erudituion character Argenti and the four-star Physical/Harmony character Hanya.

Interestingly, our new heroine (very metaphorically, since she’s actually quite the coward) has a heliobus named Tail sealed in her tail, and when he takes control, her personality changes completely.

Huohuo is voiced in English by Courtney Lin, while Tail is voiced by Adam Michael Gold. Huohuo’s Japanese voice is Maria Naganawa (Laffey in Azur Lane and Kanna Kamui in Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid), while Tail is voiced by Takeshi Hirabayashi.

You can check out Huohuo in action alongside Tail in the trailer below. If you’d rather listen to Naganawa-san and Hirabayashi-san, you can check out the trailer in Japanese on the official YouTube channel.

Honkai: Star Rail is available on PC, PS5, iOS, and Android. Incidentally, we just learned that the version on Sony’s console has achieved a million users in about a month.

Incidentally, if you like HoYoverse’s game but would rather try something new, the urban action RPG Zenless Zone Zero will soon enter a new closed beta phase, with registrations already available. You can read more about it in our interview with the producer.
