Now that Hogwarts Legacy has launched on Switch, we’re learning more about changes made to the game – including the biggest one which involves the removal of the open world.
On other platforms, the title can be explored fully without loading screens. The Switch version is a different story, however. Visit the starting area of Hogsmeade and you’ll actually be greeted to a loading screen, so you’ll now be exploring interconnected areas instead. Additionally, each shop contains a loading screen of its own – again, this was seamless on other platforms.
When the Switch version of Hogwarts Legacy was announced, many had wondered how the game would make the transition. Fans are now finding out which sacrifices were made. Aside from the open world being scaled back on Switch, Hogwarts Legacy also makes a number of visual changes. SwitchUp covered it all in a new video – various touches and effects have been removed or changed. On the bright side though, the report indicates that the game seems to mostly hold a stable 30 FPS.
