Here's why the U.S. Congress is discussing UFOs

Two security committees held a joint hearing on the UAP issue in the US Congress. UFOs also fall under the collective name UAP (Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena).

Two U.S. Congressional subcommittees held a hearing on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, entitled “Unexplained Anomalies: Uncovering the Truth.” A reporter, a former U.S. Department of Defense employee, a retired Navy rear admiral and a former NASA official were interviewed.

Specifically, the subject of the hearing was the lack of transparency in the Department of Defense (DoD) and Secret Service's handling of UAPs. Among other things, undisclosed expenditures on the UAP program and the security policy risks of UAP encounters at U.S. military installations were discussed. Lawmakers asked the Department of Defense to share more information with Congress and the public in the future.

Alien Relics and Technology

Former Defense Department official Luis Elizondo confirmed at the hearing that the United States has UAP technology. He described these as “technologies beyond what we have today.” Elizondo believes that these advanced systems should be jointly owned by the United States and other countries.

The security policy dangers of UAP should not be underestimated. Elizondo explained that drones are especially common near sensitive military installations. Elizondo said there were signs the drones were deliberately provocative, such as dangerously disrupting aircraft formations.

PhD. Retired Navy Rear Adm. Tim Gallaudet described at the hearing a 2015 incident in which a UAP was spotted during a Navy exercise and later captured on video. Soon after, the material was deleted from all email accounts of the officials involved without explanation.

Michael Shellenberger, a journalist, professor and founder of the media portal Public, submitted documents in a 214-page written statement seeking to prove the existence of a secret program called “Perfect Constellation”. It uses advanced imaging technology to systematically analyze UAPs. “UAP transparency is bipartisan and critical to our national security,” Schellenberg said.

Former NASA administrator Michael Gold has also expressed support for more openness and transparency from U.S. authorities. He explained that social stigma hinders scientific research into UAP. “The facts are out there,” Gold stressed, expressing support for better financing for UAP research institutions.

U.S. lawmakers including Nancy Mace have also called for clarity on the financing of secretive projects. «If we’re spending money on something that doesn’t exist, why are we doing it? If it exists, why do we hide it from the public? “Metz asked.

Alleged Discovery of Non-Human 'Biological Agents'

At a similar hearing in July 2023, three U.S. veterans claimed that the U.S. government possessed extraterrestrial non-human biological materials and was actively trying to recreate alien technology.

In February 2024, the Pentagon subsequently issued a report stating that they had found no evidence of alien technology related to UAP. No secret plans to recreate alien technology have been discovered within the Department of Defense. The vast majority of UFO or UAP sightings can also be traced to new flying technologies such as drones, stealth aircraft, or other rather unusual flying objects such as weather balloons.
