For almost as long as Helldivers 2 has been released there have been rumors and leaks that The Illuminate is coming, with everything from weapons, models, and animations being revealed. But, so far there has been no sign of the third faction in the game, which has led the community to speculate when the futuristic enemies could show up.
Prominent Helldivers 2 leaker IronS1ghts recently leaked images of the gauntlets that The Illuminate’s Summoner enemy will wear. But, while these are interesting to look at as we get to see more of this new faction ahead of the eventual reveal of the third faction, the comments on the post could provide some important information.
Players took to the comments to share their theories on when The Illuminate could be coming to game, with U/Hatarus547 believing it could be a while before the third faction makes themselves known saying “these leaks make me feel like the Illuminate are further off then people think.”
U/Tagliarini295 thought eradicating the Automatons was going to pave the way for The Illuminate to appear saying, “I honestly thought they were gonna come when we wiped the bots off the map.” I also thought this was going to be the introduction of The Illuminate.
U/NK1337 believes that plans for The Illuminate may have been pushed back following feedback that players want issues fixed rather than new content saying “I thought so too but given the issues going on the balancing and over all bugs it wouldn’t surprise me if they’re being pushed back. The devs talked about how they’re basically still playing catch up because of the unprecedented success the game had at launch.” And U/Speculus56 believes we may have to wait a few months saying “for now im gonna say middish to late summer.”
