LAS VEGAS – GOP Sen. John Kennedy kicked off his campaign for Nevada Senate candidate Sam Brown, where the two spoke to Fox News Digital about why they believe the Biden administration's policies have hurt voters in a key swing state.
“The number one issue that people have been concerned about for several years now is the economy and how the Biden-Harris economy has put so much pressure on individuals and families,” war veteran Capt. Sam Brown recently told Fox News. Digital at an event with Senator Kennedy Vegas.
“For example, the average family in Nevada now pays $1,200 more per month than they did four years ago. If we have seniors who have to give up the dignity of retirement to find a job because they can't make ends meet, they can't afford the rent. When moms and dads skip meals so their kids can eat, it's not fair to the people of Nevada.
Brown explained that the number two issue voters are bringing to his attention is immigration.

“Issue number two is the border crisis,” Brown said. “Vice President Harris was the border czar, she allowed this crisis to happen, and Senator Rosen sits on the Homeland Security Committee. She should be held accountable. She should be providing leadership and pushing back against an administration that, as we know, allowed over 400,000 convicted criminals to come into this country and she did nothing, in fact she only visited the border once. And that is unacceptable because for someone coming out of the military, leadership is about being at the forefront and representing your people and their problems and fulfilling the mission.”
Brown, a war veteran who was seriously injured in an IED explosion during a 2008 deployment to Afghanistan, is running against the Democratic incumbent. Sen. Jacky Rosen in a race that could play a key role in deciding which party controls the Senate. The Cook Political Report classifies the race as a “lean Democrat.”

Kennedy told Fox News Digital that he thought it was important to go to Nevada and support Brown because the combat veteran is a “rock star.”
“It's a beast. Looks great. We need him in the United States Senate,” Kennedy said. “Nevadans need and deserve him. Nevadans deserve the right to go to the grocery store without having to sell their blood plasma to afford it, and Sam will help us fix that.”
“Nevadans deserve to be able to pay their rent or mortgage without having to first deposit funds into their retirement accounts, and Sam will help us solve this problem in Washington. Nevadans deserve to be able to retire before they start working. They are 94 years old for God's sake and when they retire they should be able to live with dignity. They shouldn't be living in a tent in the Outback and eating cat food, which is a direct result of the problem I just described. as a direct result of inflation caused by the Democrats who have been in control for the past four years.”

Brown told Fox News Digital that the energy he saw during his campaign was “great.”
“It's a battleground state for the presidential race and a battleground state for the Senate,” Brown said. “When we win this race, we will have a majority. When President Trump wins, he will be in the White House. People are excited because they need change. They are desperate for change, and Jacky Rosen, as a senator, she was running from people while I was running for them.”
Kennedy told Fox News Digital that he thinks the presidential race between Harris and Trump in Nevada will be “close,” but he is confident Brown will be a “great senator.”
“I mean, this guy is a war hero, he graduated from West Point, he graduated from SMU business school, he was a businessman, he's a good dad, he's a good husband, he's smart,” Kennedy said. “You're putting yourself between Sam Brown and what's best for Nevada. He will devour you like a light snack, man.”
“Back home in Louisiana we say he's as tough as a three-dollar steak, and the people of Nevada need and deserve him. They've been through a lot. This gang in Washington, their whole plan for the last four years, Democrats, let's do the worst thing possible that won't work. They screwed up this economy so bad. Americans have been gutted like a fish by this inflation and we will fix it, help lead the charge.”
Fox News Digital requested comment on Rosen's campaign but did not receive a response.
