Today, during the celebrations for Granblue Fantasy Fes 2023, Cygames shared news about its resurrected fighting game Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising.
First of all, we learn that Icarus’ voice actor Mitsuhiro Ikichi will be made in a new lobby avatar named “Yukichi.” More tie-in premium avatars are also coming.
Next we get to take a look at the first playable character coming with the Character Pass 1, Lucilius. He’ll come on January 16, 2024.
You can watch him in action below
Another character has been announced, and it’s the most inevitable collaboration character, 2B from NieR: Automata. Obviously, Square Enix is still bent on its crusade to put her in every game, ever.
She’s coming in late February 2024 with no specific release date announced just yet.
This crossover actually makes plenty of sense (much more than other collaborations involving 2B) since Cygames’ art subsidiary CyDesignation worked on NieR: Automata.
She’ll even come with specific tie-in job skins as a bonus for the original Granblue Fantasy game.
Vane and Beatrix have also been announced as DLC characters coming b April and May respectively. Below you can check out the current roadmap for updates and DLC.
We then get to take a look at the content of version 1.10, which will launch with Lucilius on January 16, 2024.
It’ll include a new stage named “Feendrake” and more, on top of the inevitable tweaks and bug fixes.
Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising is currently available for PS5, PS4, and PC following its release on December 14, 2023.
Besides a gameplay overhaul, the game includes a number of new characters, specifically Grimnir, Nier, Siegfried, and Anila.
If you’re interested in the Granblue Fantasy franchise in general, today Cygames also revealed plenty of news about the upcoming JRPG Granblue Fantasy: Relink, including a demo and new playable characters.
