In a disturbing prescience, the famous manga Golgo 13 was found to have predicted the failed attempted assassination of former US President Donald Trump, who is now running for re-election.
A viral post on X had a scan from the action manga showing Trump almost getting killed by an assassin but the protagonist Golgo 13 saved his life, killing the assassin instead.
Mere days ago on July 13th, Trump was attacked by a sniper in Pennsylvania while giving a speech at a rally, with the local Republican Party supports in his bid to be re-elected back to the White House.
Historically, Trump is emulating Grover Cleveland who served two non-consecutive terms as the US President. Trump only received minor injuries on the ear but a spectator and the sniper were killed.
It was noted that in the manga, the attempted murder was staged and helped boost Trump’s ratings. Here’s a look:
It’s worth noting this page from the manga was drawn back in 2017 when mangaka Takao Saito was still alive, and was recently compiled and re-released.
The new compilation release just came out on July 5th, 2024, days before the actual assassination attempt on Trump. The manga was from the 213th chapter of the long-running manga.
Original Golgo 13 creator Takao Saito died in 2021, and in his last words, permitted the manga to continue without him. Golgo 13 was published in Shogakukan’s seinen manga magazine Big Comic since October 1968.
