The latest game made free for a day on the Epic Games Store to celebrate the Holidays has been revealed, and it’s Tango Gameworks’ supernatural action game Ghostwire: Tokyo.
The game can be downloaded right now on the EGS, and as long as you get it in the next 24 hours, it’s yours to keep without spending a dime.
It’s one of the 17 free games that Epic Games is providing for free on a daily base during the Holiday period. Previously, we saw Destiny 2 Legacy Collection, DNF Duel, Fallout 3 Game of the Year Edition, and more.
This is arguably the biggest game provided for free with the promotion so far, which isn’t too surprising considering that it’s Christmas’ Eve.
Yet, you have to hurry. If you don’t get it today, it’ll return to its usual $59.99 price. Considering the scope of the game, it’s certainly worth the five minutes it’ll take to unlock it on your EGS account.
Ghostwire: Tokyo was originally released on March 25, 2022, for PS5 and PC.
It was one of the last among the games created under Bethesda’s umbrella (alongside Deathloop) to exclude Xbox due to a temporary exclusivity deal that Microsoft honored even after purchasing the company.
Xbox players had to wait until April 12, 2023, to get their hands on the game, alongside the new Spider’s Thread update.
The simultaneous launch on Xbox Game Pass certainly contributed to the game achieving 4 million players shortly thereafter. I wonder whether this giveaway will contribute to the game reaching another player count milestone.

It’ll certainly be interesting to see which game will be made available for free tomorrow, considering that it’s Christmas, but you’ll have to wait another 24 hours to know.
