With franchise costumes available during the spooky season, many people dress up as their favorite horror movie villains. Recently, Instagram user MERKINY posted a concept video that shows all the iconic slasher films together in the introduction to an 80's style comedy series. The the intro starts with the title “Family Slashers”, which refers to the title style full house, and every scene shows some iconic villains doing their mischievous routines in a family sitcom. These include Ghostface choking a young girl over the phone and Leatherface smiling at the camera while cleaning a chainsaw. The film ends with the slashers chasing each other and meeting up at the end of the day. Watch the full video below:

They are versatile.

Part of the fun of Halloween is dressing up and reimagining yourself, and this certainly isn't the first time slasher icons have appeared in a completely different genre. Previously, they dressed up as characters from the series Baywatch. While iconic slasher films are known for their unforgettable looks and killer captions, ““Family Slashers” reminds viewers of their comedic side in horror movies. Even Ghostface Scream has a funny moment or two in his videos.

Although horror movie villains are mostly terrifying and deadly, fun movies like “Family Slashers” show that they are very versatile. They have no problem being on a comedy show and that's the only time anyone will notice them Gray's anatomy. “Family Slashers” not only makes fun of their comedic nature, but also explores the potential of these characters. This has happened in parodies like the Scary movie concessionswhere characters like Ghostface and Jigsaw appear.

The horror genre often includes supernatural elements and features antagonists that are less human but monstrous. However, in almost every case, the incisors are defeated or exposed. The heroes must discover their weaknesses, which will then be used against them. Pennywise is mocked to death. Heroes on Friday the 13th use Jason's size against him. In the process slasher movies are becoming less scary, but more “silly” in nature. Even slasher movies in movies like Scream they have flaws that make them more believable.
