If you have been on the fence about whether or not to get yourself an early Christmas present and upgrade to the latest iPhone, then allow us to make that choice a little easier with the news that Resident Evil Village and its Winter’s Expansion has launched for iOS.

Resident Evil Village is the eighth main instalment in the fabled franchise, and firmly locked in Capcom’s decision to veer away from the more action-orientated titles that came before its predecessor, back to good old survival horror. Now you can replay the terror wherever you happen to be, just in time for that spookiest of days.

Now for the bad news. Resident Evil Village is only available on the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max, so if you just got the base model then it is time to run back to the store. Luckily if your iPad sports an M1 chip or upwards, which I believe debuted in 2021 with the 3rd Generation tablet, then you can also play it. It might also be a cheaper option than punting for the premium versions of the newest iPhone. Think of all the Halloween candy you could buy instead.

Having the right device will be worth it though, as you will be able to play a very deserving Game of the Year winner with beautiful graphics. You could even treat yourself with the Winter’s Expansion, which features Third Person Mode, new characters for wave survival The Mercenaries, and Shadows of Rose, the final chapter set 16 years after the story.

In quite the coup, Resident Evil Village will be available to try as a free download, just in case you are somehow unsure about picking up a masterpiece. Even more, the game and its expansions are on sale until November 20th. Buy both, and you will even get an alternate outfit for Shadows of Rose, the Street Wolf Outfit.

Resident Evil Village is available to purchase from the App Store for $15.99 ($39.99 outside of sale).
