Following a brief delay, HoYoverse has announced the official release date for Genshin Impact version 4.2.
The release date was leaked last week by PlayStation after the customary Genshin Impact livestream was delayed, but now, HoYoverse has officially confirmed that the update launches on November 8th.
As well as confirming the date, HoYoverse has also released a ton of new information about the update, including what sort of new content you can look forward to.
Version 4.2’s story revolves around Fontaine’s imminent destruction by the Primordial Seawater, which is threatening to dissolve the nation.
New bosses include the rather aptly-named All-Devouring Narwhal, as well as a monster named The Foul who “resides within” the massive water mammal. Yikes.
Your new characters for this version are Hydro sword-wielder Furina, who’s a five-star character, and four-star Cryo journalist Charlotte.
Furina and Charlotte will debut in the first round of Event Wishes, alongside a rerun for Baizhu, while the second round will feature reruns for Kamisato Ayato and Cyno.
New areas will be available to explore in the form of the Erinnyes Forest and Morte Region, which are in the eastern portion of Fontaine’s map.
In addition, you can look forward to new adventures with Freminet and a cute little clockwork penguin by the name of Thelxie, which will involve traveling to Erinnyes Island to look into rumors surrounding Water Imps.
