Genshin Impact‘s latest Special Program broadcast recently went live, offering a glimpse of the exciting content of the upcoming version 4.2. The program opens with an introduction from the God of Justice and the current Hydro Archon, Furina, followed by the captivating Version 4.2 trailer.
Continuing the story from Version 4.1, Version 4.2 brings a new Archon Quest Chapter IV: Act V called “Masquerade of the Guilty.” Players will team up with Fontainian friends to explore events threatening Fontaine’s future. The quest will also uncover the reason behind this crisis and introduce an ancient evil lurking in the depths.
As expected, the Genshin Impact 4.2 update brings the Hydro Archon Furina as a playable character. In the first phase of the update, Furina’s character banner will run alongside the rerun banner of Baizhu and the new 4-star Cryo vision holder and Catalyst wielder, Charlotte. A new 5-star Sword weapon, the “Splendor of Tranquil Waters,” will also be featured in a new Weapon Event banner, designed to complement Furina’s abilities. In the second phase of the 4.2 update, players can expect the return of the character banners for Cyno and Kamisato Ayato.
Genshin Impact version 4.2 also introduces a new formidable boss known as the “All-Devouring Narwhal,” offering valuable rewards for those brave enough to conquer it. This otherworldly creature, previously appeared in Childe’s vision at the end of Version 4.1’s Archon Quest, has finally broken the seal and descended upon Fontaine.
A new area is also awaiting to be explored in Genshin Impact 4.2. To the south of Erinnyes Forest, players will find the Morte Region, where a single tower stands tall above an island in the middle of the sea. This region hides some unspeakable secrets, and players will have the opportunity to uncover them in the new World Quest.
As usual, a new version of Genshin Impact brings with it a fresh array of events, and version 4.2 is no exception. Among the exciting events include helping Freminet enhance the little clockwork penguin, partaking in a brand-new iteration of the Lil’ Fungi event, and helping a strange engineer in her research of “Graph Adversarial Technology,” among others.
Genshin Impact version 4.2 is scheduled to launch on Wednesday, November 8th.
