Today Koei Tecmo and Akatsuki Games announced the western release of their free-to-play JRPG Atelier Resleriana: Forgotten Alchemy and the Polar Night Liberator.

The game will be localized in English in 2024 for iOS, Android, and PC via Steam. Pre-registrations are already open.

As mentioned above, it’ll be free-to-play, but it’ll have the usual microtransactions for those who want to enjoy the game to its fullest.

Atelier Resleriana was originally released in Japan back in September and has proven quite successful for Koei Tecmo driving significant revenue. Funnily, in the recent financial announcement, the company mentioned “Atelier Wrestleriana” as a potential English title, but luckily, they didn’t go with that.

It’s an all-stars JRPG including characters from pretty much the whole history of the series Ryza, Lent, and Tao from the Atelier Ryza trilogy, Judie and Vio from the Gramnad series, Rorona, Iksel, Esty, Cordelia, Totori, and Meruru from the Arland series, and many more.

Like many all-star games, it also comes with its own original protagonists, including the titular Resna Sternenlicht, Valeria, and more.

The announcement was accompanied by a trailer, which you can watch below.

Those who pre-register on the official site will receive 1,000 Lodestar Gems, the SSR Memoria “By the Cool Riverside,” and the 3-star character “5-Star Pie Meister” Rorona. Yes. That’s confusing but 5-star is just the name.

The story of the game is as follows:

Long ago, the kingdom of Lantarna prospered from the blessings of a white comet that passed overhead.
The art of harnessing the comet’s blessings was called alchemy, and the practitioners of this art were known as alchemists.

However, when the comet disappeared and its blessings were no longer available, the use of alchemy gradually declined and was eventually forgotten.

The main character, Resna dreamed of spreading the forgotten art of alchemy to the world again.
Her adventures begin as she aims to travel to the World’s End where the source of the miracle is said to lie.

The gameplay loop includes elements familiar to the series like gathering, synthesis, and battle. We have elements like dungeon exploration with boss battles, during which you can also gather materials, a synthesis system involving multiple characters that you have unlocked, and timeline-based turn battles.

You can enjoy interacting with familiar characters at the Atelier which serves as a hub for the game, and level them up enhancing their power. Basically, the game comes with all the free-to-play trappings topped by rather fetching visuals.
