Cyberpunk 2077 had an abysmal launch in 2020, but since then the game has been heavily supported and patched by CD Projekt RED to the point where it is now an excellent action-RPG. It’s definitely worth playing, but, if you still need convincing, then the good news is that you can soon play a free 5-hour trial of Cyberpunk 2077 on both PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
Although the game is available on PS4 and Xbox One, last-gen consoles do not support Cyberpunk 2077 2.0 and upwards. Last-gen consoles also do not support the great DLC starring Idris Elba, Phantom Liberty. Although last year was dominated by Baldur’s Gate 3, for some Phantom Liberty was their best game of the year because of its epic story and characters.
If you still have not hopped into the futuristic sci-fi world of Cyberpunk 2077, then there’s no better time than tomorrow as you will be able to enter the dystopian nightmare for free.
Free Cyberpunk 2077 5-hour trial for PS5 and Xbox
A free Cyberpunk 2077 5-hour playable trial will be available on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S from 8 AM PT/ 11 AM ET/ 3 PM GMT on March 28th. This comes courtesy of an official announcement shared on the official CyberpunkGame Twitter account.
It will be available until 11:59 PM PT on March 31st, 02:59 AM ET/ 06:59 GMT on April 1st. Again, it will be exclusive to PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, so the free trial will not be on any platform for PC.
Of course, you will only be able to play for the 5-hour duration and until the trial expires on March 31st/April 1st. The good news is that you will have complete freedom during the trial’s duration, and it will be the 2.1 version of the game.
Alas, you will not be able to play Phantom Liberty. It is purely restricted to the main single-player campaign starring V as he looks to remove a deadly chip from inside his head that is taking over his body with the spirit of Johnny Silverhand, Keanu Reeves.
You will not need a PS Plus or Xbox Game Pass subscription to enjoy the trial. All you will need to do is download the game and that’s it. Enjoy!
