Free and online simulations prepare students for anime

Students from all over Brazil who dream of studying medicine and are preparing for the national high school exam – me – have the opportunity to test their knowledge for free and without leaving home. The simulation tests will have the same format, duration and characteristics as the National High School Examination assessments, starting from a total of 180 questions. Students will be tested on four areas of knowledge in anime: languages, codes and their technologies; human sciences and their technologies; natural sciences and their technologies; and mathematics and its technologies. There will be no written test.

A timer will be used to test participants' speed and ensure a realistic, educational and challenging experience. In each test, at the end of the defined time, the platform automatically closes the application. Only properly flagged issues will be corrected at the time of closing.

Continuous Item Response Theory (IRT) is a method used by the Ministry of Education (MEC) in the National High School Examination and is frequently used in assessments in many examination tests used in many countries.

The method allows you to define the level of difficulty of the questions and the weight of each; whether the question can differentiate between candidates who have passed or not passed the skill assessed; and the probability of getting the candidate's “guess” correct, i.e. without mastering the topic covered. In Brazil, IRT has been used since 1995 in tests of the National Basic Education Assessment System (Saeb), which measure the performance of primary and secondary school students.

Importance of simulation

One of the organizers of the event, Professor and founder of PasseiMed, Rafael Souza, highlights the importance and benefit of conducting simulations in the production of anime. “This final stage of preparation requires a simulation. Through simulation, the student can map out what needs to be done to adjust their course of study, including identifying which contents or subjects need more emphasis. In this case, this time, instead of learning new subjects, the focus should be on reviewing and delving deeper into what appears most in the tests,” he explains.

One in 2024

The National High School Examination is the main gateway to Brazilian higher education institutions. This year, the exams will be held on November 3 and 10 at more than 10,000 locations, and the template will be available on November 20. Enem 2024 has more than 5 million candidates registered. This is the highest number of records since 2020.
