Forza Horizon 4 developer Playground Games has announced that it is delisting the Forza Horizon 4 DLC from online platforms starting today. This means you will no longer be able to purchase any of its expansions (Fortune Island and LEGO Speed Champions), though players who have already bought it will still be able to access its contents. Conversely, the Standard, Deluxe, and Ultimate Editions of the base game will still be available, but only until the end of the year.
In a lengthy blog post, Playground Games revealed that it will also be delisting the base Forza Horizon 4 game on December 15, 2024. Like its DLC, once this date rolls around, you can no longer purchase and add it to your library. Fortunately, the game’s offline, online, and multiplayer features will still function even after being delisted, so you can still race with your friends and other players like normal.
Playground Games also announced changes to the Festival Playlist’s flow before the delisting date. These adjustments include “the final series for the game in Series 77, which will include the last Festival Playlist that ends on August 22.” In addition, once Series 77 ends, “you will no longer be able to access the playlist screen, except to see the festival playlist history.” Series 77 will also be the last chance for players to earn “achievements tied with the Festival Playlist.”
Although fans will undoubtedly be disappointed with this news, it doesn’t exactly come as a surprise since Playground Games initially released Forza Horizon 4 in 2018. Since then, the Forza dev team has released two more modern entries in Forza Horizon 5 and Forza Motorsport, which, with its brand-new content, has predictably taken attention away from older games.
So, with this in mind, we suggest grabbing it while you can, especially since the developers will be offering “different discounts” for the game (including one ongoing on Steam) leading up to its removal from platforms. Its Xbox Store counterpart will also have a sale on July 14.
