Epic Games is preparing to release another major Fortnite update. The v28.20 update, which is the second big patch of Chapter 5, will likely come out on Tuesday. As this is a major patch, it will bring many new things, including new cosmetic items, map changes, and more.

As we are less than 24 hours away from the update, we’ve decided to publish early patch notes. These are based on leaks and official information from Epic. Before the patch comes out, however, check out our guide on how to unlock free Fortnite skins. If you need a leveling boost, our list of the best XP maps in Fortnite will help you level up quickly.

The next Fortnite update will bring a lot of new content

The highlight of the v28.20 update will be the second Fortnite x Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration. It will bring a new event, new cosmetic items, map changes, and more. Epic will release the collab on Friday, February 9, although all the files regarding it will be added on Tuesday.

Here are the early patch notes for Fortnite Battle Royale:

  • Shredder skin and other TMNT cosmetics
  • Mini Battle Pass with rewards (not 100% confirmed)
  • Map changes: New TMNT landmark
  • Unvaults: Pizza Party, Rift-to-Go, or Bush Bomb
  • New weekly quests
  • New Level-Up pack
  • More Narrative quests
  • Possible Power Rangers collaboration (rumor)
  • New Item Shop cosmetics
  • Bug fixes

The other game modes, including LEGO Fortnite and Rocket Racing, will also get new content. We expect a few more cars and cosmetics for the racing mode, while players of the sandbox mode will likely get new blueprints, weapons, and more. All the game modes will get bug fixes, which can be seen on Fortnite’s Trello board.

It’s important to note that these are just the early patch notes. Epic will add a lot more content to Fortnite with the upcoming update, and we will have full patch notes a few hours after the update comes out.
