LEGO Fortnite is one of the most popular game modes in Chapter 5. Initially, the game mode reached more than two million concurrent players. While this number has gone down, it’s just a matter of time before it bounces back. Considering that this is a permanent game mode that will keep getting new content, players have a lot to look forward to.
Epic Games has already released some new content for LEGO Fortnite. However, the next big feature will likely allow players to make money from their in-game maps. This is similar to UEFN maps, which have made talented map creators millions of dollars in less than a year. It’s important to note that we can already make money with Fortnite, from UEFN maps and the Support-A-Creator program to tournaments and streaming.
Making money with LEGO Fortnite maps will soon be possible
ShiinaBR, one of the most popular Fortnite leakers, found something interesting after the latest update. The leaker found the following string in the game data, which likely refers to the upcoming content: “In order to Publish a LEGO® island you are required to review the terms and conditions and understand the revenue rules.”
This is similar to UEFN maps, which need to go through a manual review by Epic Games. Furthermore, the company has specific revenue rules, and eligible creators need to follow them to get payouts. Unfortunately, the Fortnite leaker hasn’t revealed anything regarding the potential release date of this fantastic feature.
Considering that LEGO Fortnite is less than three months old, it’s impressive how far the game mode has come. With the release of the v29.00 update in early March, the sandbox game will likely get even more new content. Due to this, it won’t be surprising if Epic Games releases the upcoming monetization program with it.
For the time being, we’ll have to wait for Epic’s official confirmation for this feature. While Shiina is a reputable leaker who’s shared a lot of useful information in the past, the Fortnite developer may decide to scrap this feature at some point or postpone it indefinitely.
