Even if you’ve never played Fortnite before, you probably know all about the game’s emotes. Plenty of them have made their way into the real world, and plenty more are inspired by iconic pop culture moments. But with so many emotes available in the game, some players are asking Epic Games to institute a big change.
In a post on Reddit from u/BluesArrived, they ask ‘Can we talk about the fact that despite all the cool new emotes coming out, we still only have SIX slots?’. And it’s a fair question. With so many updates adding new emotes to the game, why can you only equip a certain number?
U/Salsalord2 summed up how most players felt, saying ‘I have so many emotes that I want to use but I can only really use 6 at a time. I know you can access all of them in game, but it’s not worth scrolling through all those tabs to find the emote I want, especially in the heat of the moment’.
If you only have a few more than 6 emotes, this might not seem like a big deal. But if you’ve been playing the game for years and have racked up way more, then you’ll have pages of emotes to sift through.
And that goes double if you buy a lot of emotes, too. If you’ve spent any real life money on your emotes just to have them sat gathering virtual dust because they’re so hard to access, you’re probably not going to want to buy any more, right?
This is only one problem players have with emotes. U/Dplex920 adds ‘I don’t even care about emotes since they ruined the locker last season. All my emote wheels were coordinated with my skin presets and now that they’re separate I don’t even bother’.
It might not seem like a big issue, especially as it doesn’t have a major impact on the gameplay itself. But as such a major part of what makes Fortnite so popular, it seems surprising that Epic haven’t put more time into it.
And with more emotes dropping with the Chapter 5 Season 2 Battle Pass, things are only going to get worse if nothing is done. But if you’re enjoying the season and looking forward to unlocking the Korra skin, check out our guide on how to do just that.
