Though the launch of Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1 is undoubtedly considered by many to be a success, players are starting to get burnt out with the current map after some went on social media to call it “boring.” Several jaded community members pointed at the current map iteration’s monotony and lack of exciting POIs as the main reason for their complaints, noting that it has a glaring lack of variety and memorability compared to previous versions.
Of course, with speculation on the Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 release date starting to ramp up, the fan base won’t have to wait too long for new battle royale and map content to enjoy. But since the next update’s launch has yet to be confirmed by Epic Games, fans continue to lament the lackluster Fortnite Chapter 5 map on Reddit with other similarly burnt-out players, as one user bluntly posted: “[Is] anyone else bored of the map yet?”
Naturally, this prompted plenty of reactions from the community, with one commenter noting: “It’s beautiful, but I just want more variety and more silly/lighthearted places.” “When I [first] started [playing], there was a suburban neighborhood covered in mushrooms, a beachfront with a colossal statue on it, a floating pirate ship, etc. Now it’s…Tuscany,” they continued. Others shared a similar opinion, saying they “want more variation to the POIs” because many “feel generic.”
As is often the case with most sweeping player complaints, Epic Games has yet to respond to this latest batch. However, much like past updates, it’s safe to assume that a few changes will be made to the map in the next patch, though it’s currently unclear whether it will address the lackluster POIs that several players have been lamenting.
