Fortnite Confirms Early Release Date for Fortnitemares 2024 Update

Epic Games has announced that the next Fortnite Halloween event for 2024, known as Fortnitemares, will begin on Friday, October 11. Leakers had previously stated that the new Fortnitemares update would be released on October 15, as Tuesday is the usual day for new Fortnite patches, but Epic has now confirmed that the event will be kicking off four days earlier than fans originally anticipated.

Each year, fans patiently await the return of Fortnite‘s massively popular Halloween event and 2024 is no different. After kicking off the first Fortnitemares event in 2017, the yearly Halloween updates have been a big hit for the popular Battle Royale game, and feature plenty of spooky new Fortnite skins, items, quests, and more. While the length of the event has yet to be confirmed by Epic, fans can likely expect between two to three weeks of Halloween-themed content to get stuck into, including collaborations with Saw, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and much more.

Previous leaks suggested Fortnitemares 2024 would begin on October 15, but Epic Games has now announced via its official social media accounts that the new update will drop on Friday, October 11. A short cinematic trailer was released alongside the date, showcasing some of the new cosmetics coming to Fortnite with the update. Unfortunately, details on the contents of the event are still scarce, but fans can likely expect some new and unvaulted weapons from previous Fortnitemares events, and possibly even some special quests for players to complete.

Epic Games Confirms Fortnitemares 2024 Release Date

Currently, Epic has confirmed that Fortnitemares 2024 will bring new Fortnite skins such as Billy the Puppet, which is available now via the in-game item store, Mephisto, Leatherface, and Lexa Hexbringer, an original Fortnite skin. For fans looking to get their hands on the new Billy the Puppet skin, they’ll need to fork out 2,500 V-Bucks for the entire bundle or purchase the standalone skin for 1,500 V-Bucks.

There has also been speculation that Fortnite will introduce some Disney villain skins with Fortnitemares 2024 after it revealed more details about the massive collaboration earlier this week. The two companies are currently working together to create a massive Fortnite experience like no other, but it was recently confirmed that various Disney villains, such as Captain Hook, Maleficent, and Cruella de Vil would be the next Disney skins to come to Fortnite, leading to speculation that they will be released during the Fortnitemares 2024 event.
