Fortnite has brought many a player plenty of fond memories with its collection of mainstream pop culture skins, one-of-a-kind building mechanics, and ever-transforming interactive environment. But much like creating a structure out of flimsy pieces of wood, it, too, can be brought down by a single barrage of artillery-based destruction, which, in this case, has taken the form of the latest update.
Following the release of Fortnite update 27.10, which notably brought beloved animated superheroes Invincible and Omni-Man to the game, fans have started coming out in droves to lambast Epic Games for the poor changes introduced with the patch. Fitzy, a popular Fortnite content creator, even went so far as to call this “the worst update ever” since it apparently prevents players from using cosmetics they paid for.
Some users on the Fortnite subreddit have reacted in a similar manner, with one fan rhetorically asking: “Can we all agree this is by far the worst update in Fortnite history?” Others were quick to agree, as another player pointed out the change in the Fortnite font in an expletive-filled sentence. Conversely, one commenter noted that Epic Games was trying too hard to be similar to another popular game, stating: “[The developers] genuinely just want to be Roblox, not understanding that Roblox already exists.”
Luckily, not everyone within the game’s community is unsatisfied with the patch, as evidenced by many level-headed responses on Reddit. If you aren’t pleased with it, though, it unfortunately doesn’t seem like Epic Games is planning on reverting these Fortnite changes any time soon since the alleged “worst update” was only recently released.
