Former NHL pro Paul Bissonnette defends restaurant from 6 drunks

Paul “Biz Nasty” Bissonnette has never been a hockey player known for his craftiness. In 6 seasons in the NHL, he played 202 games, scored 22 points, and logged 340 penalty minutes. In the AHL, 43 points and 653 penalty minutes in 270 games. In the 2008/09 season alone, he boxed 32 times in two leagues.

The 39-year-old has now resigned and works as a podcaster and pundit on TNT. But he clearly hasn't forgotten how to fight. Bissonnette was involved in a fight at a restaurant in Scottsdale, Arizona, on Sunday night. On the latest episode of his “Spitin' Chiclets” podcast, he reports on what happened.

So the former NHL forward went to one of his regular restaurants on Sunday. As he was placing his order, he noticed nine drunk customers arguing with the manager as the restaurant asked the group to leave. One of the men came closer to the manager and waved in front of him.

“Fortunately, the police were called in the first place,” the Canadian said. Scottsdale police confirmed they arrived about three to five minutes later and arrested six suspects on suspicion of assault and disorderly conduct. Bissonnette himself was briefly examined by paramedics and returned home a short time later.
