The Florida judge overseeing Donald Trump’s classified documents case dismissed the indictment against the former president Monday on the grounds that the appointment and funding of special counsel Jack Smith was illegal.
The Justice Department, the special counsel’s office and the Trump campaign did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
