Today Square Enix is hosting the first day of the Final Fantasy XIV Fan Festival in Tokyo, and the initial keynote presentation started strong with a new trailer.
Producer and Director Naoki Yoshida walked on stage to present a new trailer for the expansion, which also revealed the second new job on top of Viper, which was announced at the Fan Festival in London.
The new job is Pictomancer, a magical ranged DPS that utilizes the power of paint.
We also get to take the first look at a female hrothgar, a new race and gender combination that will come with the expansion.
We also learned that the release date won’t be announced today. An internal release date is set, but Square Enix wants to be absolutely sure of the specific time before making the announcement that being said, it is going to be in the summer of 2024 as announced,.

Final Fantasy XIV is currently available for PS5, PS4, PC, and Mac, with a new Xbox Series X|S port that will finally launch at some point this spring with an open beta starting in January.
If you’re interested in trying out the game before Dawntrail releases, you can purchase a copy on Amazon. The launch window for the expansion is still slated for the summer of 2024.
