Square Enix has released a fresh new batch of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth screenshots, showing off the awesome world and characters you’ll get to interact with next year.
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is currently scheduled to launch on February 29th, and it’ll follow the party as they leave Midgar and attempt to put a stop to Sephiroth’s plans to summon Meteor.
Along the way, you’ll visit iconic locations like Kalm Town, the Chocobo Ranch, and Junon, and meet characters like Choco Billy and Priscilla, some of which you’ll also get to see in the new set of screenshots.
The screenshots also show some other interesting tidbits, including a menu in which players can dress up a chocobo, as well as the summoned monster Kujata being let loose in battle.
We also get to see several characters fighting, including Aerith, Barret, and, of course, Red XIII, who memorably featured in the closing hours of Final Fantasy VII Remake.

As well as the new screenshots, Square Enix also uploaded a video to help you understand what’s going on in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth.
If it’s been a while since you played Final Fantasy VII Remake or you’ve never played it and will be starting with Rebirth, the new The Story So Far video should help you out. Here it is!
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is the second part in Square Enix’s ambitious Final Fantasy VII Remake project.
It significantly expands on the original game, rearranging the order of certain events and introducing new characters and plot elements while still remaining mostly faithful to the structure of Final Fantasy VII.
We already know that, following the bombshell conclusion of Final Fantasy VII Remake, Zack won’t be the only spinoff character in Rebirth, and also that the iconic Vincent Valentine will make an appearance, voiced by (who else?) Matt Mercer.
If you’re worried about getting used to the “correct” pronunciation of “Cait Sith” in Rebirth, you needn’t be; Square Enix has confirmed the character’s name will be pronounced as it looks, i.e. “Kate Sihth”.
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is due for release on February 29th. It’ll be a PS5 exclusive at first, although it’s likely to come to PC as well.
