Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth director, Naoki Hamaguchi, has stated that Tifa Lockhart will be getting more emphasis when it comes to showcasing her strength in the third game of the planned trilogy.
According to X (formerly Twitter) user Genki, who uses the platform to report gaming industry insights from Japan, Tifa in the third part of the Final Fantasy 7 Remake trilogy will be a much stronger character than in the first two games.
Along with having a generally stronger Tifa, the third game is also going to have a new gameplay system that will involve Tifa in some way. Unfortunately, no more details about the new system have been revealed so far.
Originally released on PS5 back in February, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth has seen quite a strong critical reception. However, the game doesn’t seem to have sold as well as Square Enix was hoping for, with the company revealing back in May that it hadn’t met sales targets. For context, reports from April indicated that Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth had only sold half as many copies as Final Fantasy 7 Remake did in the same time frame.
The third game in the series is likely in production, and doesn’t yet have an official title.
