Following a barrage of news and announcements last month, Square Enix’s Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth has looked very good. From new Synergy Attacks in combat to extensive side content with over 100 hours of gameplay promised, there’s a lot for fans to dive into, including new playable characters like Red XIII, Cait Sith and even Sephiroth (albeit briefly).
Vincent Valentine also debuts in the i saga and will accompany the party, though he’s not playable. On the plus side, you can expect stellar voice acting, as the developer has announced Matthew Mercer for the role of the fan favorite. Mercer has voiced many iconic characters in gaming, including Ganondorf in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Cole Cassidy in Overwatch 2 and, more recently, Minsc in Baldur’s Gate 3.
Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth launches on February 29th 2024 for PS5. It will ship on two Blu-ray discs and requires 150 GB of installation space.
It’s official!
