Final Fantasy 14 Crosses 30 Million Players

Despite the lack of a paid expansion since the launch of Endwalker, Square Enix’s critically acclaimed MMO Final Fantasy 14 is going strong with over 30 million players. Its last major milestone was 2022, with over 27 million registered players announced.

Square Enix didn’t specify the total number of paid subscribers, though its last milestone included free trial players. The free trial provides access to the base game, Heavensward and Stormblood, with a level cap of 70. Players can try out different Jobs and content, and while there are some restrictions, it’s great for newcomers.

Final Fantasy 14 is available for PS4, PS5 and PC. It’s coming to Xbox Series X/S in Spring, with an open beta in patch 6.5X. The next expansion is Dawntrail, launching this Summer and adding a new continent, Jobs, race, Dungeons, Raids and more. A release date will be announced later, as director/producer Naoki Yoshida wants to avoid a potential delay a la Endwalker.
