Fat Joe admits to using Ozempic after a dramatic 200lb weight loss

Fat Joe revealed that Ozempic was responsible for his dramatic 200lbs weight loss.

The All the Way Up star, 54, who first revealed her shock transformation in July 2023 said that taking a celebrity weight-loss drug and cutting carbs from her diet helped her lose the weight.

He told US Weekly: 'Ozembic says you can only have two favorite pieces.'

The star did not reveal how long he had been on the drug.

He added: “We try to eat everything with as few carbohydrates as possible. So we try to stay away from bread, pasta and rice. That's the smartest way to eat.

'As I ate breakfast this morning, I ate this snack. I cut the corner and let it move. Usually I would have eaten [sic] The whole thing. But you know, that's what we do. We're cutting carbs and trying to be smart.

He also revealed that his wife Lorena Cartagena, 29, misses his big frame 'because I like being the big guy'.

The star's weight loss over the past year has helped her keep her diabetes under control and has given her a new outlook on life.

He began his journey to a healthy weight and mindset 20 years ago, when his friend and fellow rapper Big Bun died of a heart attack in 2000 at the age of 29, but only recently has he begun to make big strides in his weight loss journey.

'I went to his funeral and I felt like Ebenezer Scrooge. As he saw me. I see his little daughter. She is my daughter's age. I said, 'You need to lose weight; Otherwise you get out of here,” another Round rapper told Men's Health.

The outlet asked him if he plans to change his name now that the adjective fat no longer applies to him.

He said he briefly thought about changing his stage name to Slim Joe or something similar but ultimately didn't want to.

'Although I am health conscious on a different level, it doesn't make sense to change that. Now that's my brand. I built it,” he said.

The What's Love singer spoke to the outlet about her lifelong battle with depression, calling her mind 'the most complicated Rubik's Cube you'll ever, ever, ever, ever try to figure out.' So you struggle every day.

He continued: 'When you're fighting on your own, there's no wall as high as you can build. There is no island you can go to. Because you are fighting your mind, there is no place for you to go where you can get away from it.

The minute you wake up and think about it, your brain sends you a message saying, 'We shouldn't be happy.' And then you're depressed again,' he explained.

He also discovered how his body processes different types of food, revealed that his parents still cooked with lard and drank whole milk, and unlocked the key to fighting his depression.

'Your body is just a computer. It reads the things you eat in different ways,' he said.

And once he got his weight under control, he no longer needed insulin injections like he had since he was diagnosed with diabetes at age 12.

After a particularly bad bout of depression, he discovered, 'Once you get out of it, you have to know what brought you there and run the other way. The minute I feel unhappy, I turn to happiness.

In a conversation with one of his drivers, he explained that he felt like 'Slim Joe' had let down his huge fanbase.

'Steve is a great guy. And, “Man, you always fly, Joe, all the big boys, you gave us hope, you made us think big flies. Fat Joe. You're out of nowhere, and start losing weight.”
