A new update video was released by the developers of Fablecraft. This digital TTRPG, which released about a week ago on Steam Early Access, has been steadily rolling out new features and listening to player feedback. One of those new features is an official Fablecraft StartPlaying partnership.
The Fablecraft StartPlaying Partnership
The Fablecraft StartPlaying partnership was the first thing announced in the most recent video on the Tales of Fablecraft YouTube channel. For those not aware, StartPlaying is a premium service platform where players can find TTRPG campaigns run by professional GMs.
The platform hosts games from many RPG systems. Everything from Dungeons & Dragons to Cyberpunk Red to Vampire: The Masquerade is available on the platform if you are willing to pay for a seat.
Now, professional GMs can host games of Fablecraft as well. The video even contains a $10 in-store credit promo for those who want to start playing immediately. Given that the Fablecraft game is currently available for free, you’re paying for the convenience of a tailored, safe play environment by a dedicated professional; a great introduction to the tabletop hobby.
The Fablecraft StartPlaying partnership wasn’t the only announcement in this update video. Outside of general quality-of-life updates and bug fixes, the video highlights seven feature requests via player feedback. This feedback was gathered via the Fablecraft Discord Server, the Steam Community forums, Steam User Reviews, and their dedicated feedback website.
GMs requested more homebrew tools. These include changes to the Gamemaster Guide and a user-generated content marketplace. Homebrew tools were already announced as part of Fablecraft’s content roadmap.
As for general requests, players have asked for additional pre-made content, Fable Dice enhancements, matchmaking, and more single-player content like the combat arena. The video does state the dev team’s priority right now is towards multiplayer and homebrew integration, given how key it is to the TTRPG experience.
