Saber Interactive and publisher Focus Entertainment have revealed the Expeditions: A MudRunner Game release date.
The game, which was originally unveiled during this year’s Gamescom Opening Night Live ceremony, will launch across PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Switch on March 4th, the two studios revealed.
As the name suggests, Expeditions: A MudRunner Game is a spinoff of the popular offroad sim MudRunner, although this one has more of a focus on exploration than its namesake.
A new release date trailer was also unveiled to commemorate the announcement, and it makes Expeditions: A MudRunner Game look an awful lot like Death Stranding with trucks (well, more trucks). It looks ideal if you just can’t wait for Death Stranding 2.
You’ll guide your vehicle over perilous terrain, watching out for steep gradients, deep water, and anything else that might scupper your attempts to explore.
As you play, you’ll build a base and manage your team, unlocking “new possibilities for exploration” and uncovering “hidden treasures and forgotten ruins”, according to Saber and Focus.
Pre-orders for Expeditions: A MudRunner Game are now open (unless you’re playing on Switch), and there are three different editions to buy if you’re interested in the game.
The standard edition comes with the base game and a Don 71 SUV cosmetic, which are also included in both other editions.
However, the Year 1 Edition also grants access to a 96-hour early access period, as well as the game’s Year 1 Content Pass and a special truck.
The Supreme Edition, meanwhile, contains everything in the Year 1 Edition above, as well as the Pioneer Pack, which contains “an alternate version of 4 different trucks”.
Expeditions: A MudRunner Game launches for PC, PlayStation consoles, Xbox platforms, and Nintendo Switch on March 5th. Pre-orders for Switch will open at an undisclosed date; Saber and Focus simply say they’re coming “soon”.
Stay tuned for more info on this one.
