Expected PS Plus December 2023 Extra and Premium games reveal date with leaks

It’s been a decent year for PlayStation Plus subscribers. Fans are understandably miffed about this year’s price increase, but the offerings from Sony have largely been good throughout 2023. The PlayStation Plus December Essential games are now available to grab, but we’re still due the Extra and Premium additions. The reveal date for the PS Plus December 2023 Extra and Premium games should be just over the horizon, and some of the PS1 classics may have possibly leaked.

While 2023 has been a fantastic year, 2024 is shaping up to be just as excellent. We have compiled a schedule of upcoming games for 2024, and, while there aren’t many PlayStation exclusive, there is The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered release date for January. And, before 2024 even begins, don’t forget about the free God of War Ragnarok Valhalla DLC available to download soon.

All of the above is no doubt exciting, and hopefully, Sony will finish the year with a bang by pulling the curtain on some great PS Plus Extra and Premium December 2023 additions.

PS Plus Extra and Premium December 2023 games reveal date

The expected reveal date for the PS Plus Extra and Premium December 2023 games is December 13th. Sony usually reveals the Extra and Premium games on a Wednesday one week after the release of the Essentials. The December 2023 Essentials were given away on December 5th, hence the expectation that Sony will pull the curtain aside this Wednesday.

After the games have been announced, they typically come out the Tuesday after. So, if announced on December 13th as expected, you should be able to begin playing from the 19th. In regard to the January 2024 Essentials, they are expected to be identified on December 27th.

Before the new year comes about, make sure to claim the PS Plus December 2023 Essentials before the expiry date, January 1st. You definitely don’t want to miss out on LEGO 2K Drive, Powerwash Simulator, and Sable.

PlayStation Premium leaks

There are three PS1/PSP classics possibly leaked for PS Plus Premium December 2023:

• Disney/Pixar Buzz Lightyear of Star Command (PS1)
•  Thrillville: Off the Rails (PSP)
•  Thrillville (PSP)

These possible leaks come courtesy of Gematsu. They leaked UP for Premium in November, so it’s possible they have done the same again. As mentioned in their report, all of the above-listed games have been rated for PS4 and PS5 in Taiwan similar to what happened with Disney Pixar’s UP.

While it’s possible all three could join this month, nothing has been confirmed as of writing. They could join this month or they could get added further down the line in 2024. As for predictions, fans on Reddit are guessing games such as Final Fantasy Origin Stranger of Paradise, Metal Hellsinger, and Hades. These are purely guesses, but they would be amazing gifts from Sony.
