Remember Chernobylite? The Farm 51’s first-person survival horror action RPG launched in full in 2021, taking players to the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone in what was a decidedly rough but promising experience. Soon, the studio will be returning to that world with a sequel.
The Farm 51 has announced Chernobylite 2: Exclusion Zone, an open world action RPG follow-up that will blend crafting, survival, and base building mechanics with open world exploration in a world brimming with atmosphere. Players will play as a Planewalker, someone capable of travelling between parallel worlds, which will also allow you to change your build and abilities on the fly.
The Farm 51 is promising greater build diversity with the game’s progression and customization mechanics, more diverse combat with an advanced melee system, greater emphasis on companion characters, factions, base building mechanics, and more, while co-op is also confirmed. Chernobylite 2: Exclusion Zone will launch sometime in 2025 for PC and consoles. It’s currently unknown specifically which consoles it will release for.
