Epic Games has just revealed the new free game available on the Epic Games Store to celebrate the ongoing Holiday sale, and it’s The Outer Worlds Spacer’s Choice Edition.
This means that not only do you get the base version of the critically acclaimed sci-fi RPG by Obsidian, but also all of its DLC and more.
On top of the expansion Murder on Eridanos and Peril on Gorgon, this is the “definitive” version of the game with better graphics, improved performance, additional animations, higher-resolution environments, and an increased level cap.
As usual with this kind of offer, you only have 24 hours to unlock the game and it’s yours to keep. After the time’s up, it’ll go back to its original $59.99 price and a new free game will be offered.
The Epic Games is providing a whole 17 free games during the Holiday period. Previously, we saw Destiny 2 Legacy Collection, DNF Duel, Fallout 3 Game of the Year Edition, Ghostwire Tokyo, and more.
The Outer Worlds was originally launched by Obsidian Entertainment and Private Division in 2019 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. It then launched in 2020 for Nintendo Switch and in 2023 for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
This latest release is the Spacer’s Choice Edition which you can get for free for PC today, so it isn’t at all a bad deal. You can’t beat free, especially when it’s a great game to begin with.
If you’d like to learn more about the game, you can read our review, alongside that of Murder on Eridanos, and the review of Peril of Gorgon.
It certainly appears that Epic is pulling all the stops to draw more eyes to its store this Holiday Season. Free games are always attractive.
In combination with the new games launched in Fortnite (LEGO Fortnite, Rocket Racing, and Fortnite Festival) it could certainly help some holdouts decide to give multiple storefronts a try.
