Eddie Redmayne opened up about an awkward moment during his and Taylor Swift's screen test for Les Miserables.
The Golden Globe winner, 42, who recently wowed at the premiere of his upcoming series, admitted he snacked before his 2011 audition to “stay away” from the Mirrorball hitmaker.
At the time, she had already played the role of Marius and was auditioning for the role of Eponine, and called the joint audition an “incredible experience.”
He recalled: “I will never forget it because at first I didn't know [Taylor] They made her look like Ebonine. Then you meet one of the sexiest women in the world, she arrives with mud on her teeth and looks like a street urchin.
'The director sat us upstairs and we sang this love duet. I didn't realize it would be so close. I remember going to a pizza place and shoving some garlic bread in my mouth so they like chemistry and I tried to play chemistry with Taylor.

However, the role did not go to the singing star – who recently resumed her Eras tour in Miami – who ended up beating out actress Samantha Parks.
The hit film is set in 19th century France and tells the story of ex-convict Jean Valjean, who breaks his parole and is pursued by his nemesis and former guard Javert before seeking redemption.
In 2022, Swift called her screen test with the Tony Award-winning actor a “dream” during an interview with The Graham Norton Show.
She explained that she was up for the roles of Cosette, which went to Amanda Seyfried and Ebonine, but found it difficult to cast the role due to her vocal range and appearance.
The blonde beauty recalled: 'I went to New York after doing some auditions and I think it was established that I had more the look for Cassette, but I had the voice for Eponine. I'm sure it will be a good time, not a long time.
Casting directors invited her to London for a screen test with Redmayne, but things fell through when she arrived.
Swift confirmed that her teeth were painted brown and that dark circles were drawn under her eyes to evoke the character's “near-death” look before she met the team.
“It instantly became a nightmare for me,” I admitted.
Fortunately, she says Redmayne is “nice” to her despite meeting her for the first time in unattractive makeup.
“I went to a pizza place and shoved some garlic bread in my mouth… I kept my distance and tried to play chemistry with Taylor,” he said; I saw it with Amanda Seyfried in 2012.
