The UK boxed sales charts data for the week ending December 9th is in, and it’s another victory for EA’s flagship soccer franchise.
Just like last week (and, indeed, the week before it), EA Sports FC 24 has once again claimed the top spot in the charts, although it’s duking it out with a different opponent in second place this time.
Super Mario Bros. Wonder has reclaimed the number two spot this week, having apparently emerged as the victor in its scrap with Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, which is much lower in the charts at time of writing.
Third place this week is awarded to Hogwarts Legacy, which is maintaining an impressive position in the charts after having reached number one again a few weeks back.
In fourth, it’s the chart’s only non-mover this week, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III, which remains in exactly the same spot as it was for the week ending December 2nd.
Fifth place goes to the only new entry in the top ten, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, which our reviewer Andrew Stretch was not particularly impressed by.
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is in sixth, because its presence must now be taken alongside entropy as one of the immutable laws of the universe.
Seventh place goes to the aforementioned Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, which has slipped somewhat, but hey, there’s still time for the game to reclaim a spot in the top five for the holidays.
Eighth and ninth places go to Nintendo Switch Sports and Minecraft, respectively, while the tenth place spot is occupied by Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga.
Here’s a quick rundown of eleventh through fifteenth places in this week’s UK boxed sales chart: Cyberpunk 2077, Mortal Kombat 1, Grand Theft Auto V, Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate, and Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition.
It’s rather curious that the original Cyberpunk and its Ultimate Edition have managed to enter the charts together, but the UK moves in mysterious ways, after all.
That’s it for this week! Join us again next week, where we’ll likely once again be crowning EA Sports FC 24 as the leader of the pack.
