Duchess Sophie looks elegant for the incredibly moving Chad visit

The Duchess of Edinburgh was on hand at the British Embassy in N'Djamena on Monday as she met with aid workers and NGOs during her three-day visit to Chad.

Duchess Sophie wore a red wrap dress by Ghost with a white crescent moon and star print. The floaty number with long sleeves and an ankle-skimming skirt was paired with a pair of heeled wedges by Penelope Silvers.

The Duchess visited the country in central Africa with UNICEF representatives. She tearfully met refugees who fled Sudan's brutal civil war.

Sophie also heard harrowing accounts of women who suffered conflict-related sexual violence at the hospital center in Atre.

“People have to exchange food and water for sex, for rape,” the royals told reporters. “It is violence enacted through conflict. Used as a bargaining tool.

“What they're doing to the kids… I can't even use the words,” Sophie added.

Chad's visit falls just days after the mother-of-two spent three days in Malta with her husband Prince Edward to mark the 60th anniversary of its independence and cooperation with the United Kingdom.

Sophie's choice of looks baffled the two royals as they were almost identical. The king, dressed in a silky white shirt and white skirt, was draped in orange blossoms as he unveiled the new Submarine Walkway, a memorial to the submariners who died in World War II, on Tuesday.

She styled the ensemble with an orange Sophie Habsburg bag and white Penelope Silvers wedges.
