Capcom has announced a Dragon’s Dogma 2 gameplay showcase for later this month, but the upcoming action RPG’s release date may already have been leaked.
That’s according to a listing on the official PEGI (Pan European Game Information) website, which lists the Dragon’s Dogma 2 release date as March 22nd.
The PEGI listing also states that the game features both “violence” and “in-game purchases”, arriving at a rating of 18.
It’s worth noting, of course, that this doesn’t constitute an official announcement; the PEGI listing could be a placeholder, although it’s an oddly specific one if that’s the case.
The aforementioned Dragon’s Dogma 2 gameplay showcase was announced earlier today. It’s set for November 28th at 1pm Pacific (that’s 4pm Eastern).
Capcom introduced the gameplay showcase with a teaser promising “the latest news on Dragon’s Dogma 2“. The showcase will be hosted by game director Hideaki Itsuno and producer Yoshiaki Hirabayashi.
Given the PEGI listing, it’s very possible that a Dragon’s Dogma 2 release date will be announced during the showcase. Capcom hasn’t promised one, but the appearance of the listing at pretty much the same time as the showcase’s announcement is somewhat fishy.
If you’re not familiar with Dragon’s Dogma 2, it’s the upcoming sequel to the 2012 cult RPG hit Dragon’s Dogma.
The game will adopt the same action-RPG gameplay as its predecessor, and many elements from the first game, such as the otherworldly Pawns, will make a return.
Dragon’s Dogma 2 was originally unveiled during a Sony showcase back in May. Gameplay for the RPG was subsequently shown during September’s Tokyo Game Show, revealing the game’s vocations and some of its monsters.
We don’t yet officially know the release date for Dragon’s Dogma 2, although it seems the game will arrive for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC in March.
While we wait, you can check out our very own Giuseppe’s Dragon’s Dogma 2 preview, as well as his interview with the highly-anticipated sequel’s developers.
