It’s been over ten years since the first Dragon’s Dogma came out, but finally, in just a couple of days, we all get to enjoy Capcom’s long-anticipated sequel. Actually, it comes out in a couple of days for console, but on PC it actually launches slightly earlier depending on your region. Thanks to the official global launch map from Capcom, we know that some Dragon’s Dogma 2 PC fans get to play first before PS5 and Xbox console users.
There is lots to anticipate with Capcom’s sequel. You can download the character creator demo right now to create your Arisen and main pawn for the full game, and your pawn will be sharable with other players online. Alas, there is no multiplayer included, and the director has explained that there is no online co-op because it was never Capcom’s intention to stray away from a single-player epic.
If you’re especially eager to play, you can pre-order the game right now to preload. Pre-ordering, preloading, and creating your Arisen and main pawn pre-launch will allow you to immediately begin your adventure when the game unlocks. And, if you are playing on PC, you will be able to start your adventure before PS5 and Xbox players depending on your region.
Dragon’s Dogma 2 fans can play before PS5 and Xbox
PC users get to play Dragon’s Dogma 2 before PS5 and Xbox thanks to the official release date and times shared by Capcom. For PS5 and Xbox, the global launch is local midnight on March 22nd, whereas for PC it is a simultaneous release across all regions starting March 21st.
Because of the differences in launch times, PC users get to play a few hours earlier than PS5 and Xbox. It’s not a huge amount of difference, but the difference is still there.
If you adhere to Pacific Time, PC users get to play from 5 PM PT on March 21st, with PS5 and Xbox getting access from 9 PM PT on March 21st. For Eastern Time, the game unlocks on Steam at 8 PM ET on March 21st, meanwhile, on PS5 and Xbox it rolls out at 12 AM ET on March 22nd.
Sadly, for players in the United Kingdom, there is no difference as it launches on PC, PS5, and Xbox from 12 AM GMT on March 22nd.
If you plan to play on Xbox, you can get early access by exploiting the easy New Zealand trick. This will allow you to begin playing from 4 AM PT/ 7 AM ET/ 11 AM GMT on March 21st.
There is no exploit available to play even earlier on PC, but there is no cheat needed for players in the United States to begin playing from March 21st. PC fans only get to play four hours earlier than PS5 and Xbox, but it’s still good for fans to know the earlier they can begin playing. If you are playing on PC, make sure you meet the system requirements.
