DQM: The Dark Prince follows Psaro, a long-running villain, as he becomes a powerful Monster wrangler. Psaro is cursed and unable to harm Monsters of any kind, so he must recruit allies to fight his battles for him.

How to Scout Monsters in DQM: The Dark Prince
Players will only have one Monster on their team when they start their playthrough. So, the first steps to success are to scout local Monsters and build their Main Party and Reserves. After getting their starter, players will get a rundown of how to scout wild Monsters from Fizzy, the local Monster wrangler trainer.
Players are pulled into a battle Whenever they make contact with a wild Monster. Battles can consist of one or four Monsters at a time. They last for 20 rounds unless the opponents are defeated, players run out of Monsters, or a Monster is successfully scouted. Monsters will only join up with players if they deem them strong enough through a “Show of Force.”
During their turn, players will see the “Scout” option underneath “Orders.” After selecting “Scout,” players must choose to confirm the Monster they want to join their team. Then, all of their Main Party will attack and show the percentage of how likely the show of force is going to work.
If players hit 100%, the Monster is automatically scouted, but it might fail if the percentage is too low. If the scouting fails, the Monster will become irritated or angry. Players can’t scout angry Monsters and will have missed their chance.
Players with full parities and high-level Monsters will have an easier time scouting local Monsters. Successfully winning tournaments or beating bosses will increase Psaro’s reputation and make scouting more likely. Once a Monster is scouted, it will become available for players to add to their team.
Scouted Monsters can be added to the Main Party or the Reserves or sent to the Monster Depot. Players can switch their Monsters between Main Party and Reserves from the menu but must visit Zachariah at the Paddock to access the Monster Depot. Alternatively, Royston eventually starts running the Monster Depot in the Basement of Rosehill Tower.
