Blizzard Entertainment’s Diablo 4 will receive its first paid expansion in late 2024 with Vessel of Hatred, as announced at BlizzCon 2023. However, in the short term, the first seasonal event for the action RPG looter, Midwinter Blight, will go live on December 12th. It will last three weeks and see players exploring the Fractured Peaks in search of “a mysterious, red-cloaked terror.”

Before that, the developer will add five new Unique Rings, each Class-specific and containing Season of the Malignant’s powers, next week. December 5th sees the Occultist gaining a new preview function, so you can see which affixes are possible when Enchanting a piece of gear. Abattoir of Zir goes live on the same day and offers a “highly replayable end-game event experience” for level 100 players, lasting six weeks and awarding a Paragon Glyph.

Season 3’s theme wasn’t revealed, but it will add The Gauntlet, a weekly challenge Dungeon. Each Class can compete for a spot in the rankings, with the top competitors showcased in the Seasonal Hall of the Ancients. Stay tuned for more details in the coming months.
