Highlights
- One Palworld player has built an incredibly massive city spanning hundreds of houses in a circular layout.
- The achievement elicited both praise and disbelief from the Palworld community.
- Making matters even more impressive is that the player’s gargantuan metropolis was built entirely without time-saving mods.
One highly dedicated Palworld player has managed to build an absolutely massive city spanning a sizable chunk of the game’s map. Their incredible achievement elicited a variety of reactions from the Palworld community, ranging from praise to utter disbelief.
While Palworld has initially struggled to escape the “Pokemon with guns” label that some fans attached to it as soon as it was revealed in 2021, Pocketpair’s newest title is actually much closer to survival crafting games in the vein of Ark: Survival Evolved. As such, building various structures and contraptions is an inherent part of its overall gameplay experience. But the building mechanics themselves are currently a bit underbaked and buggy, which is why many players have so far not engaged with them beyond the bare minimum.
Palworld Player Builds ‘Unraidable’ Base
A skilled Palworld player builds their incredible base in a stunning remote location that is inaccessible to enemies on raids.
Many, but not Reddit user Commercial_Neck8986, who has recently gone through the effort of building a huge city spanning a big portion of one of the islands in the eastern section of the Palworld map. The end result of their efforts is a large-scale metropolis comprising a few hundred houses, the vast majority of which are positioned in a circular layout reminiscent of some medieval towns. The player’s flyover over the city took around a minute in total, further underlining its gargantuan size.
The massive city promptly emerged on the front page of the survival game’s most populous subreddit, amassing thousands of upvotes and hundreds of comments. And while many Palworld players stood in awe of this achievement, others opted to express their disbelief at the fact that anyone would go through the trouble of doing something of this sort. “Building in this game feels really unfinished,” wrote Reddit user dougan25, concluding how they’re having a hard time imagining why anyone would spend so much time “wrestling” with the game’s building mechanics just so they could construct an enormous metropolis.
This Giant Palworld City Was Made Entirely Without Mods
Commercial_Neck8986, for their part, did not elaborate on their motivation for this undertaking. And while the player also didn’t reveal how long the entire process took, they did confirm that this giant city was made entirely without mods that would speed up the process by doing things like removing the Palworld carrying capacity limit or unlocking unlimited resources.
Instead, the player merely focused on stockpiling stone, which they then used for putting together house foundations—which use just 3 stones per wall—while simultaneously chopping down whatever trees they needed for the roofing. It is also likely that the player had set the decay rate under the Customize World Settings to zero, as anything above that figure would have caused many of their buildings to eventually disappear.
