In 2023, Messing said the world was 'bleak' following the death of his Will & Grace co-star Leslie Jordan.
The star – who played Grace Adler in the sitcom – took to Instagram to pay tribute to her late co-star who died in a car crash in 2022, admitting that her friend had brought 'joy and happiness' to her life.
She wrote: 'How can this be? Dear Leslie, the whole world has faded. The joy and happiness you have brought into my life is a beautiful gift. I wish I had the words…. Fly with the angels, my friend. And sing, sing, sing. (sic)'
Debra's 'Will and Grace' co-star Megan Mullally is heartbroken following the death of her close friend Leslie Jordan.
She wrote on Instagram: 'My heart is breaking. I really couldn't believe it. Leslie Jordan is one of the best. People use that expression a lot, and I'm not sure it always applies. There aren't many people who are truly good at anything. But Leslie was unfailingly funny, a master of comedy. His timing, his delivery, all apparently effortless. You can't get better than that. What a friendly, funny, loving person. (sic)'

The 63-year-old star – who portrayed Karen Walker on the NBC sitcom – recalled spending time with Leslie, who plays Beverly Leslie on the show, last month when she was 'very relaxed and happy'.
He added: I was with him last month. The prestigious National Book Festival showcased Leslie and her best-selling book in Washington DC, and she asked me to interview her for her event. I did my preparations but it was completely unnecessary because I had to unleash him and he went on a series of absolutely hilarious stories that had the largest audience in a frenzy for a solid hour. Offstage, he was more relaxed and happy, where he was with his best friend Mike. He looked really happy. How brilliant that millions of people on Instagram were able to discover the real Leslie and her life and unparalleled storytelling skills.
Eric McCormack – who played Will Truman in the sitcom – also took to social media to pay tribute to his former co-star. He wrote: 'Devastated to learn of Thelslijordan's loss. The joy and laughter he brought to each of his #VillainGrace episodes was palpable. Thirty years have gone by too quickly. You are loved, sweet man.
