Kojima Productions announced last year that it had partnered with Hammerstone Studios to officially begin development of a Death Stranding film. Now, another major player that will be involved with the project has been revealed.
Independent entertainment company A24 – which has produced films like Everything Everywhere All at Once, Uncut Gems, Lady Bird, and The Whale – has confirmed that it will be producing the Death Stranding film. Weirdly enough, it did so through a merch listing.
On its official online store, on a listing for a Death Stranding A24 shirt, the company writes, “It’s official: we’ve partnered with Kojima Productions on the live-action feature film adaptation of Hideo Kojima’s acclaimed video game, Death Stranding.”
Earlier this year, Kojima Productions boss and Death Stranding director confirmed that he was “deeply involved in producing, supervising, plotting, look, design, and content” of the film, but wouldn’t be directing it.
Kojima has also said that the film will be “taking a direction that nobody has tried before with a movie adaptation of a game.” Read more on that through here.
