Capcom has revealed that Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster won’t give you any bonuses for taking “erotica” photos like the original did, so you can put away your paparazzo tendencies and try to be a proper photographer.
Per a report by Automaton Media (which, in turn, cites a Famitsu article), the “erotica” bonus, which was awarded for taking photos of things like female characters’ cleavage, upskirt shots, and other sexually-charged images, won’t be present in Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster.
As Automaton points out, there’s a mission in the original Dead Rising that tasks you with taking such a photo, and if the bonus isn’t present anymore, then it’s likely that mission will be removed or altered.
It’s unlikely that Dead Rising‘s other photography bonuses, which include B-movie-inspired things like Horror, Brutality, and Outtake, will be removed from the game, so you’ll still be able to take shots of Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster‘s copious gore.
Of course, we can rely on Dead Rising‘s fanbase to be entirely reasonable and rational about this change. Right? We’ll just have to wait and see, I suppose.
If you’re unfamiliar with Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster, it’s an upcoming remaster-come-remake of 2006’s zombie-killing classic Dead Rising, which sees photojournalist Frank West exploring a zombie-infested shopping mall to find the perfect scoop.
The original game tasked Frank with rescuing a number of survivors throughout the mall, taking on colorful psychopaths as boss fights, and arming himself with a variety of novelty weapons in order to slaughter hordes of zombies.
Revealed back in June, Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster arguably blurs the line between remaster and remake thanks to its revamped visuals, improved AI, and bevy of quality-of-life changes and improvements.
Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster is set to launch across PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S on September 19th, and a physical version of the game is also due to arrive for consoles on November 8th. Stay tuned for more on this.
