Behavior Interactive announces that Dead by Daylight is crossing over with Ubisoft’s Rainbow Six Siege. The new Rainbow Six Siege Collection includes three new skins and is available now from Dead By Daylight‘s in-game store.

Behavior Interactive released its asymmetrical multiplayer survival horror game Dead by Daylight in 2016. A team of four Survivors must work together to escape the fifth player, who takes the role of the Killer. Dead by Daylight currently features 39 playable Survivors and 34 Killers, with the studio routinely adding more with DLC. In addition to Dead by Daylight‘s original characters, the roster includes crossover characters from franchises like Silent Hill, Resident Evil, Left 4 Dead, Halloween, Stranger Things, and The Ring.

Dead by Daylight revealed the new Rainbow Six content in a short trailer. The Rainbow Six Siege Collection does not introduce any new Survivors or Killers. Instead, it offers alternate skins for three existing characters. Each is based on one of the Operators from Ubisoft’s popular multiplayer first-person shooter. Behavior Interactive announced the crossover in its November 2023 roadmap, but the new trailer is the first look at the new content.

Dead By Daylight‘s Jamaican teacher, Adam Francis, can equip Waimi’s Suit, while German architect Felix Richter gets Blitz Uniform. Both skins are of Very Rare rarity, and the Dead by Daylight versions definitely seem worse for wear. Richter, in particular, seems to have crawled through quite a lot of mud after equipping Blitz’s helmet and pads. However, dirt is not a problem for Dead by Daylight‘s Renato Lyra in his Legendary Tubarão skin.

Crossovers are nothing new for Dead by Daylight, though Rainbow Six Siege is an unexpected choice. Past crossovers included games, movies, comics, and even web series, but were usually firmly part of the horror genre, though this is not universally true. For example, Behavior released the Attack on Titan crossover in May 2022. While perhaps horror-adjacent, it isn’t really horror in the usual sense. While not technically a crossover, July 2023 also saw the release of Dead by Daylight‘s Nicholas Cage Chapter Pack, which adds the legendary actor as a playable survivor.

Still, Rainbow Six Siege is probably not what anyone would have guessed as a Dead by Daylight video game crossover. However, this does potentially open the door for other unusual crossovers. While characters like Alan Wake or Isaac Clarke might feel like more natural fits, there’s no saying that Lara Croft or John Marston couldn’t also show up at some point, assuming the publishers involved are interested.
