Behaviour Interactive has revealed the Dead by Daylight Castlevania crossover release date, as well as unmasking the killer and survivor you can expect to play as when it arrives.
Originally revealed as part of the game’s eighth anniversary celebrations, Dead by Daylight‘s Castlevania crossover will arrive on August 27th, but you can check it out right now via the game’s public test branch if you want to.
As you might expect, the killer being added to Dead by Daylight as part of the Castlevania crossover is none other than Dracula, and he brings with him the ability to shapeshift into three different forms with distinct abilities.
Dracula’s Vampire form can use a damaging fire spell, while his Wolf form is capable of tracking enemies more effectively and moving more swiftly. He can also transform into a bat, giving him the Undetectable status and giving him the ability to teleport to vault points within 32 meters.
His survivor counterpart is none other than vampire hunter Trevor Belmont, scion of the Belmont clan and star of Netflix’s Castlevania show (although not its newest spinoff, Nocturne, which stars Richter Belmont instead).
Trevor’s perks allow him to see the killer when completing a generator, upgrade his items, and heal after opening chests, so he’s a good choice if you’re looking for a scrappy survivor who can fend for themselves.
You can take a look at the Dead by Daylight Castlevania trailer, which gives a glimpse of both Dracula and Trevor, right here.
Castlevania is the latest in a long string of crossovers for Dead by Daylight. Others include Tomb Raider, Alan Wake, and the recently-announced Five Nights at Freddy’s crossover, although that’s not coming for a while yet.
Dead by Daylight‘s Castlevania crossover arrives for all players on August 27th. You can check out the full patch notes for the corresponding update right here.
