Double Fine and Iam8bit hosted Day of the Devs, focusing on plenty of upcoming independent games from a variety of developers from all over the world.
Before we delve into The Game Awards tomorrow, it’s time for the traditional dosage of indie games, this time around broadcasted before Geoff Keighley’s award show instead of afterward.
Below you can enjoy all the reveals and their trailers, with many games also receiving developer commentary aplenty.
We start with Militsioner by Tall Boys, which is a “first-person surreal immersive runaway simulator” and is coming for PC via Steam and doesn’t have a release date just yet. You can watch it on the official channel since the trailer has not yet been released individually at the moment of this writing.
Next is Loose Leaf, an ultra-detailed tea brewing and tearoom management simulator by Kitfox Games. It doesn’t have a release date just yet, but you can check it out below.
Coal Supplier presented Thank Goodness You’re Here, a comedy platformer coming in 2024 for PC, PS5, and Nintendo Switch. Check it out on the official recording of the show.
Kind Words developer Popcannibal revealed Kind Words 2, which is basically what it says on the tin, a game about being kind to people, coming to Steam with no release date announced just yet. This can also be enjoyed on the official YouTube channel.
Hollow Ponds and Richard Hogg showcased the multiplayer co-op game Flock, which lets you play as a flying shepherd. It’s coming to PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One in Spring 2024. Check it out within the official recording.
Hermit and Pig by Heavy Lunch Studio is next, a turn-based adventure RPG focusing on the relationship between a hermit and his truffle-seeking pig, coming to PC via Steam. The trailer can be watched on the official recording.
Next is Dome-King Cabbage by solo developer Cobysoft, and it’s as psychedelic as the title indicates. It’s coming at some point in the future for PC and Nintendo Switch. Check it out on the recording of the show.
We then take a look at Ultros, a sci-fi game by Hadoque coming for PS5, PS4, and PC on February 13, 2024.
The psychological survival horror Holstin by Sonka was shown next. It’s coming for PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch, with a new demo coming in 2024. Here’s the trailer.
The development duo Sven Ahlgrimm and Mathilde Hoffmann showcased the musical roguelite game ODDADA, coming to PC and Mac in 2024. Check it out on the recording of the show.
Another development duo, Paul Hart and Lee Williams, presented Cryptmaster, a dungeon-crawling narrative adventure coming to PC via Steam in 2024. Take a look on YouTube.
The next world premiere is Llamasoft: The Jeff Minter Story by Digital Eclipse, which is basically a digital museum and interactive documentary, coming for PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch at some time in the future.
The Drag Queen fighting game Drag Her! is next by Fighting Chance Games, coming in Q1 2025 for PC via Steam. Take a look on the official recording.
Braid by Jonathan Blow is back with a remaster titled Braid Anniversary Edition coming on April 30, 2024, for PC, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, iOS, and Android. It includes renewed graphics, music, and developer commentary. Here’s your look on YouTube.
Open Roads by Open Roads Team is an interactive movie-mystery thriller in which you play a single mother traveling with her daughter. It’s coming on February 22, 2024 for PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
We then take a look at Janet DeMornay Is A Slumlord (and a witch), a story-driven, non-violent, escape room, horror-comedy by Fuzzy Ghost, coming to PC and Mac in 2024. You can enjoy the reveal on YouTuvbe.
Night Signal Entertainment presented Home Safety Hotline, a text-based retro horror game coming to PC in Q1 2024. You can watch it on the recording.
Long Way Home showcased the narrative-driven “caRPG” Resistor, coming for PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch. Have a look on the recording of the show.
Snipperclips developer SFB Games revealed The Mermaid’s Tongue, a murder mystery detective adventure game set on a submarine. It’s coming in 2024 for PC via Steam and consoles.
Genesis Noir developer Feral Cat Den revealed Nirvana Noir, a noir adventure that is actually rather colorful and is coming to PC via Steam, Xbox Series X|S, and Game Pass. A crowdfunding campaign to fund development will also happen soon.
The show ended with the reveal of Vampire Survivors: Emergency Meeting by Poncle. As you can see from the trailer below, it’s an Among Us-themed DLC for Vampire Survivors and it’s coming for PC and Xbox on December 18, 2023.
